How to Reset Canon ip1980 Printer

Switch on the printer to be reset,

Press the power button to switch off the printer,

Unplug the power cable behind the printer when the printer is completely off,

Press and hold the power button do not release,

Plug the power cable back into the printer while still holding the power button, then the power LED light will turn on,

Press the Reset button on the printer twice while still holding the power button,

Release the power button, then the printer will enter standby mode,

Make sure the printer is connected to the computer using the USB printer cable,

Also prepare blank paper and put it into the printer's paper holder,

Download the Canon IP1980 Resetter application,

Extract the download result of the application,

Open the GeneralTool file inside the resetter folder,

Select Yes if a notification related to User Account Control appears, the General Tool application will open,

Click the Device ID button to bring up the details of the printer to be reset,

Enable the tick mark on the Celaning and EEPROM Clear sections,

Click the Main button,

Click the Platen button underneath,

Click the EEPROM Dump button then the EEPROM Dump window will appear,

Press the Quit button to close the window,

Click on the Heat Test Pattern button, after that the printer will automatically activate and print the test,

Click the Quit button to close the resetter application,

Switch off the printer by pressing the power button,

Unplug the power cable at the back of the printer while the power LED light is still on/blinking,

Plug the power cable back in,

Turn on the printer again, after that the printer will return to normal and can be used to print documents as usual.
