From all points of view, we can assume that this is an assortment expansion of the model range, especially since the screen diagonal practically coincides with the A52, other differences are not so striking.

Who will buy the Galaxy A72? Those who understand exactly what they are choosing a smartphone for several years and want to get a performance margin for growth (the younger Galaxy A52 model has 4 GB of RAM in the base version, this will become a bottleneck for those who play games or run “heavy” applications ).
Sales of the Galaxy A72 could be better than that of the younger representative of the Galaxy A32 line, despite the cost of almost 2 times higher. The explanation should be sought in the fact that this is a very balanced device compared to the proposal from Apple - iPhone 11/12. Samsung is clearly aiming at its direct competitor, which sells devices at exorbitant prices, and offer their solutions at a much lower cost, without sacrificing quality or delivery. For those who want to squeeze in a little more, 10-12 hours of operation is easily achievable. Which for this segment looks very, very good. The model is most similar to the Galaxy A52, there is the same in most respects. Thus, the quality of communication is excellent, no questions asked, the voice transmission is also at a high level. It is in these parameters that the A7x/A5x always compare favorably with the younger models, as well as in the quality of modem implementation. The next level of quality are the flagships, but their cost is noticeably higher.
We can safely say that the Galaxy A72 occupies an intermediate place between the A-series and the company's flagships, such as the same Galaxy S20 FE.

Among Android-smartphones the situation is such that there are many similar models from Xiaomi, other companies, but most use IPS screens, and the software leaves much to be desired in terms of perception, speed, and integrity of the approach. The tremendous work done by Samsung with OneUI 3.0 is clearly visible, the devices stand out for the quality and ergonomics of the software. Usually there are always people claiming that Samsung software works terribly, everything slows down, and so on down the list. But they can't give examples, as usual, because they "lost the phone", "gave up the phone", "drowned the phone" and so on. A unique advantage of both A72 and A52 is protection against water, in this price segment no other device has this feature. Which is enough reason to consider them seriously. But in any case, I like the current state of the market, when the competition is high and the consumer has the opportunity to choose from dozens of models what suits him.
